Sautéed Asian Inspired Purple Cabbage

This one is a Mrs Sambar recipe, so I’m going to try shushing and not commentating extensively. Heres the Recipe 🙂

Recipe :

  • 1/2 head purple cabbage
  • 1/2 small onion (yellow or white), thinly sliced
  • 1-2 TSP of chopped garlic
  • 2-3 TSPS of Fish sauce
  • 2 TSP of Olive Oil or Grapeola
  • 1-2 tsps of soy sauce (low sodium)
  • 1 tsp red chili flakes
  • Salt and black pepper (to taste)

Method :

  • Chop the cabbage into thin strips, 2 in. length. Then thinly slice the onion.
  • Add Olive Oil or grapeola to a non-stick pan
  • Add onion, garlic and cabbage to the pan
  • Cover and let steam on medium heat for 7-8 mins
  • Remove lid, check to see cabbage has softened and turn up heat for 2-3 mins
  • Add fish sauce, soy sauce and chili flakes
  • Add salt and bp
  • Set aside for a few mins before serving!

Yes, Mrs Sambar is a lot less verbose than me :).

Happy Cooking, and Happy Eating!
